Bridal Skincare Routine: How to Prep for Your Big Day
Every bride dreams of looking beautiful and glowing on their wedding day, but getting that bridal glow can be a slightly tricky task! Let us guide you through some essential steps to achieve that bridal glow on your special day.
What should be the pre-wedding bridal skincare routine?
The skincare routine should begin with the basic steps of cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. Ensure you thoroughly understand your skin type before establishing a skincare routine.
Prepping for the bridal day:
- Cleansing: Start your day with cleansing. Use a gentle cleanser to remove any dirt, sweat, oil, or other impurities. At night, make sure to go for double cleansing to get rid of residual makeup and skin debris.
- Exfoliation: Make sure to exfoliate 1-2 times a week to get rid of dead skin cells and brighten the skin’s complexion.
- Use hydrating serums: Hydrating serums containing hyaluronic acid can help lock in moisture and plump up your skin.
- Moisturize: Moisturizer can help nourish the skin and give a more youthful complexion. Our Lumi Dew moisturiser can help to lock in the hydration and prevent your skin from being dry and irritated.
- Sun protection: Irrespective of the weather and even if you stay indoors, the application of sunscreen is important for protection from hyperpigmentation, premature aging, and sunburn. Aim for a sunscreen with SPF of at least 30 and rub it on exposed parts of your body like hands, face, neck, etc, every 2 hours. Our Sunkissed hybrid sunscreen can protect against both UVA and UVB rays.
Perfect the bridal look!
Now, let us at the steps to achieve the natural bridal look.
- Primer: Start your bridal look by applying a lightweight primer. Primer can act as a base for your makeup.
- Create a base: Go for a foundation that matches your skin tone and use a foundation brush to blend it with your neck and face.
- Concealer: Use it to hide any dark circles or blemishes present under the eyes. You can also apply them to the forehead, chin, and nose.
- Powder: A setting powder can help set your foundation and concealer. Apply it mainly to the forehead, nose, and chin.
- Blush: Apply blush with a pinkish tint around the cheekbones and blend it towards your temples to give a natural flush to your face.
- Eye makeup: Go for an eyeshadow color (brown, gold, or bronze) that can suit your skin tone. Start with a neutral shade and then proceed to a darker one gradually. Use an eyeliner (gel/ liquid type) to accentuate your eyes and apply kajal for more depth. Use a waterproof mascara to finish the look.
- Lipstick: Choose a colour that accentuates your lips, like red, pink, or maroon. A nude or pink shade can be applied for a natural bridal look. Preferably, try matte lipstick as it can keep your lips smudge-free.
- Setting spray: Use a setting spray to finally set the makeup and keep it long-lasting.
Your wedding day is the perfect excuse to bring out your hidden glow and radiance. With a little bit of consistency and care, you can achieve that perfect bridal look on your big day!
