Sweat-Proof Makeup for Hot Days

Summer’s here, but it is coupled with sweat and acne breakouts! But don’t sweat it out, since we have got you covered! In this article, we will discuss how to maintain long-lasting makeup throughout the summer.

What can be your sweat-proof makeup routine?

Let us look at your sweat-proof makeup routine:

  1. Sweat-proof primer: A sweat-proof primer can prevent the makeup from fading, which can help it stay intact on the skin for a longer time. Apply to specific areas that are prone to sweating, like the T-zone area (forehead, nose, and chin). Make sure to follow your basic routine (cleansing, toning, and moisturizing) first before applying primer. Gently apply the primer using your fingertips or a brush.
  2. Sweat-proof foundation: A proper sweat-proof foundation can be lightweight and allow your skin to breathe. This can make your makeup more long-lasting. Once you are done with the primer, apply the sweat-proof foundation to your face. You can use a sponge or a brush to apply them.
  3. Say no to powder blush: Powder blush can be challenging to blend in with your makeup. There could be dry patches on your skin and this could look bad especially if you have dry skin. You can go for creamy blush instead. Apply them lightly to your cheek using your fingers or a sponge, as it can be intense.
  4. Use a highlighter: A highlighter can accentuate your features and make you look more glowing and summer-ready! They can be applied over your foundation and come in various shades to help complement your skin tone.
  5. Waterproof mascara: A waterproof mascara will prevent smudging that occurs due to heat and humidity. This makes it last longer. To apply the mascara, curl your eyelashes with a curler first to lift them. Post that, apply a lash primer to create a base for your mascara. Start applying the mascara from the base to the top.
  6. Matte lipstick: Matte lipstick is smudge-proof and does not require any touchups. It gives a non-shiny but a natural look to your lips. Apply a lip balm followed by a lip liner to create a base for your lipstick. Gently start from the center of your lips to outwards. Remove excess lipstick using a tissue.
  7. Setting spray to lock it in: Setting spray can act as your makeup’s barrier, preventing it from smudging or washing off with sweat. It can also prevent oil or dirt from sticking to your makeup. To apply setting spray, shake the bottle and close your eyes before spraying it in a T or X pattern across the face. Allow it to dry well before touching up with makeup.

Now that you know how to ace that summer look, ditch the stress and go out to have fun. No matter how hard the heat rises, your makeup will stand by you as your sidekick and keep you looking glamorous all day long!
