Why should you consider starting Glutathione supplements?
Glutathione is a tripeptide and potent antioxidant. It is naturally produced in the body but its level gets depleted with age and environmental stressors. To ensure optimum health and beauty benefits, supplementation might be helpful. Glutathione offers various benefits:

1. Improves immunity
2. Reduces free radicals and oxidative stress
3. Helps in detoxification
4. Repair cell & tissue damage
5. Reduces pigmentation and dark spots
6. Promotes anti-aging benefits

Types of Glutathione supplements:
Glutathione supplements have become more popular in recent years. These supplements are available in many forms like powder, capsules, tablets, liquids or IV infusion, advised to have with a glass of water or mixed with liquid. You will find different types of glutathione supplements available like:

  1. Reduced Glutathione:
Reduced glutathione is a well researched and active form of glutathione. Works effectively as an antioxidant to neutralize free radicals.
  2. Liposomal Glutathione:
This glutathione is encapsulated with lipid / fat, thereby, preventing its breakdown in the digestive system. It is the most absorbable form of glutathione supplement.
  3.  Acetyl Glutathione:
An Acetyl group is attached to the glutathione, that helps to penetrate better and boosts its bioavailability.

Best time to have:
Taking supplements at the correct time helps to boost its bioavailability. To ensure better absorption, it is best to have Glutathione supplements on an empty stomach, preferably 30min before meal. If you plan to take in between meals, then make sure to keep at least 2 hours of time gap.

Pairing with other Antoxidants:
Supplements efficacy takes its peak when paired with the right nutrient. When glutathione supplement is taken in combination with Vitamin C and/or N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC), it shows remarkable benefits.

Vitamin C: Vitamin C is an antioxidant that helps to improve Glutathione levels. It is effective in collagen synthesis, immune function and prevents signs of aging.

N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC): NAC acts as a precursor for Glutathione production and works to strengthen skin barrier, locks moisture and aids skin health.

Dosage:
It is advisable to maintain proper dosage to get optimum benefits. Normally the daily dose of glutathione ranges from lower as 250mg/day to higher as 1000mg/day. You can take 1-2 tablets or capsules in a day or frequency might vary depending on individual needs and goals.

For pregnant / lactating women or anyone with medical conditions or currently on any medication, should avoid or speak with their Healthcare provider for dosage.

Glutathione supplements when chosen in the right form and dosage will offer impressive benefits from skin health to wellbeing. Before buying, do check and compare different glutathione products for its type / form, dosage, paired nutrient and price factor. You can connect with your healthcare provider for dosage recommendations that suit your needs.
